The Role
Our centralized corporate services departments operate on a global scale, but work like a local team. Combining their experience and expertise, they work collaboratively with the aim to continuously improve our vital people and business functions.
We are currently expanding our Finance capabilities to meet the needs that our business growth requires. Working in a global team, the Project Controller will be responsible for direct supervision of all day-to-day accounting and financial activities on designated departments.
Duties and responsibilities
- Secure correct booking of cost and revenue to the appropriate accounting period and correct department
- Financial reporting on designated departments or segments
- Follow up on invoicing to and payment from clients according to signed agreements
- To prepare annual budgets- and rolling forecasts for designated departments
- Financial follow up on client contracts and internal projects to make sure all requirements are met, including correct cost and revenue flow between Shearwater legal entities and departments
- Prepare weekly customer receivable schedules for line managers across the Company
- Project budget review, including prepare operational targets pre-project to vessel and financial review after completion of project, both financial and operational, latter with necessary input from Operations.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Education and experience
- College or University degree in Accounting, Business, or other Finance related subject
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Good understanding of budgeting and accounting
- Knowledge of global organizations and the impact on financial management
- Good excel skills
- Fluent English skills both written and verbally
