We are looking for a Service Engineer, Propulsion / Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion to join our Parts and Field Service organization in Rubbestadneset, Bømlo. This opportunity is offered on a permanent basis.

What will you be doing?
As a (Senior) Service Engineer, Propulsion, you need to be ready to travel all over the world for execution of service onboard our customers installations. You will carry out and-/or supervise overhauls and repairs of gears, propellers, thrusters, seals, and bearings. Your tasks also include troubleshooting and preparing reports and documentation.
As an ideal candidate, you have deep knowledge within the field of propulsion. Experience with Wärtsilä gears, propellers, and thrusters will be emphasized. Supervisor experience, along with knowledge of electrical and automation products, is considered an advantage.
The below will enable you to shine in this role:
· Certificate of apprenticeship and/or vocational technical college (documented and relevant experience can compensate for formal education)
· Experience with or knowledge of gears, propellers, and thrusters
· Experience with reporting and documentation after overhauls
· Fluency in English and Norwegian / Scandinavian, both verbal and written
· Service-oriented mindset and collaboration skills
· Willingness to travel a minimum of 156 days per year
· The ability to make decisions and work independently
· Motivation to grow professionally
The work is carried out in rotation (4-4) and involves travel activities of a minimum of 156 days per year. The position requires a health declaration, as well as residency in Norway. Training on Wärtsilä’s products and systems will be provided.
