Here at SLB Kristiansand , we are looking to strengthen our Control System team with new and motivated Field Service Engineer Rig Equipment. The position has +/- 160 travel days with main office in Kristiansand, local connection is preferred.
About the team
The Field Service team is working closely with clients, engineering and technical team to develop the future control systems for our clients. Ensuring field services are delivered to our customers with excellent performance and safety through good communication. The role is responsible for service, support, maintenance, and development of product design according to our customers’ requirements, design and is of the quality we expect internally.
About the role
In this team, you will have a unique opportunity to learn about our systems and products, and you’ll be able to affect the quality of our products. You will work and use your experience in the field. Be responsible for installation, repair, troubleshooting, testing, and upgrading of SLB Rig Equipment in commissioning and service phases throughout the world. You will get a varied and exciting workday where taking responsibility is encouraged. The role will also be the link that bridges the gap between us and our customers in during the installation and service operations.
Responsibilities
Commissioning and follow-up of SLB Rig Equipment products worldwide.
Participate in installation, testing and commissioning of projects.
Service interventions including repair, troubleshooting, modifications & upgrades.
Technical follow up of operational SLB Rig Equipment.
Assisting ongoing SLB projects in-house.
This position involves extensive traveling.
Experience and education:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
Certified Electrician (Gr. L) or equivalent electrical certification is considered an advantage.
Experience with electrical systems, automation, or control systems.
Familiarity with PLC-based control systems is preferred, particularly Siemens SIMATIC S7 and TIA Portal.
Understanding of electrical schematics, motor control systems, and power distribution.
Exposure to commissioning, troubleshooting, or maintenance activities is beneficial.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is an advantage.
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexible, customer-focused, and willing to travel internationally.
Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
