Product Compliance Engineer | Help Bring Huddly Products to the World

Huddly builds AI-powered camera systems that bring intelligent video collaboration into meeting rooms worldwide.

We push computer vision and machine learning into hardware people actually use every day – and that only works if the hardware is rock solid, everywhere we sell it.

We're looking for a Product Compliance Engineer to join our engineering team and make sure all our products are market-ready and safe to use.

You'll work shoulder to shoulder with hardware and software engineers from early design through to shipping product, and be directly involved when we figure out how to enter new markets.

Expect a mix of hands-on technical work and the documentation that makes it stick.

You'll have real freedom in how you approach your work, and you will be trusted and empowered to shape the high quality products we deliver to our customers.

We especially encourage candidates from groups that are underrepresented in the technology industry to apply.

We value diverse perspectives and believe that different backgrounds make us stronger.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with the engineering team to catch EMC and safety issues early, while they're still cheap to fix
  • Run compliance pre-testing and suggest design improvements to help products pass certification
  • Scope, plan and manage certification processes with external labs and certification partners, from documentation through to sign-off
  • Work with our suppliers to make sure third-party components meet our compliance requirements
  • Assess regulatory requirements for entering new markets worldwide
  • Track our certifications portfolio and keep renewals on schedule
  • Stay on top of changes to compliance regulations, and flag design changes early when they'll affect our products
  • Create and manage action plans to address audit findings or potential compliance violations
  • Keep us ahead of regulations like RoHS, REACH, PPWR and Prop 65 — with evidence files kept current, and DoCs that are accurate and well substantiated

What we’re looking for

  • A team player
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for electronic products for global markets
  • A solid understanding of why a product passes or fails EMC and safety testing
  • Comfortable reading and applying regulations and standards, and translating them into practical requirements for engineers
  • University degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years work experience in product compliance or a relevant field
  • Ability to take ownership of compliance processes, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals and other product environmental requirements is a plus
  • Knowledge of design for environmentally friendly solutions is a plus
  • Fluent in English - we have a diverse group of colleagues from all over the world
  • Valid work permit for Norway
  • This position is located in our HQ in Oslo.

Ferdigheter

  • Dokumentasjonsforvaltning
  • EMC-måleteknikk
  • Ingeniørkunst
  • Lede utviklingsprosesser
  • Overholdelse av regelverk
  • Regulatory compliance
