Join GS FLEET as a Software Architect

GS FLEET operates across the Nordics, Germany and Hungary and is currently in a phase where operational execution, customer migration and production decisions are critical to future scalability and performance.

As a Software Architect, you will play a key strategic and hands-on role bridging business needs, customer requirements, and technical execution.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering teams, HW engineers and stakeholders to design robust and scalable architecture while guiding long-term technical direction.

You are also expected to understand operational model of the company.

This role will be included in the R&D leadership team and will report directly to the Head of Technology.

  • Security and system compliance on applicable standards

  • Timely execution on agreed roadmap

  • User Experience - customer satisfaction and platform adoption

  • Infrastructure cost efficiency

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Domain Understanding

  • Translate customer and business requirements into scalable technical solutions

  • Ensure architectural decisions support availability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

  • Evaluate trade-offs between system design, operational complexity, and customer value

Architecture Planning & Evolution

  • Assess and plan necessary changes to system architecture

  • Design and maintain cloud-native solutions (primarily AWS, but with a cloud-agnostic mindset)

  • Identify risks, scalability challenges, and opportunities for improvement

Technical Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Support development teams in planning, evaluating, and implementing architectural decisions

  • Provide guidance and mentorship on best practices and modern architecture patterns

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing

Technical Roadmap Ownership

  • Contribute to product and company roadmap planning

  • Own and drive the technical roadmap related to architecture and infrastructure evolution

  • Ensure alignment between long-term technical strategy and business goals

Discovery & Experimentation

  • Lead technical discovery initiatives and innovation efforts

  • Design and implement Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to evaluate new technologies and approaches

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies

Standards & Best Practices

  • Establish and maintain architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices

  • Promote reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence

  • Help improve development workflows and engineering maturity

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree (MSc, MBA or equivalent) in engineering, technology, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience

Experience

  • Strong experience designing and evolving distributed SaaS architectures

  • Solid cloud experience (AWS preferred, multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic mindset is a plus)

  • Strong understanding of scalability, high availability, and performance optimization

  • Experience working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Hands-on development experience and ability to prototype solutions
