Defendable's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service delivers continuous security monitoring, threat detection, and efficient incident response for our customers.

Security engineering and architecture play a central role in our MDR delivery. We design and build systems for data collection, processing, analysis, and detection, enabling high-quality security monitoring across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.

We work with modern technologies and engineering practices, including cloud-native architectures, automation, and infrastructure as code, to ensure that our platform is robust, scalable, and adaptable to an evolving threat landscape.

About the position

As a Security Engineer, you will be part of one of our technology teams, consisting of both analysts and engineers, working closely together to support and further develop our MDR service.

The role combines engineering, security operations, and platform development. You will contribute to the operation, management, and continuous development of Defendable's MDR platform and selected internal IT systems.

You will work at the intersection of engineering and security operations, helping to improve both our platform capabilities and our service delivery.

Your responsibilities will include

• Working as part of a cross-functional team of analysts and engineers supporting MDR delivery.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining integrations and data pipelines for security monitoring.

• Building platform capabilities and technical solutions that support MDR and incident response.

• Driving continuous improvement and reducing manual work and operational toil.

• Contributing to the onboarding of new customers, data sources, and integrations.

• Improving automation, scalability, and detection capabilities across the platform.

• Taking initiative to identify technical challenges and implement effective solutions.

Key qualifications / who you are

We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in building secure, scalable, and reliable systems.

Background and experience

• Higher education at university level; relevant work experience may compensate for formal education.

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role is an advantage.

Technical competence

We do not expect candidates to match every point below, but experience in several of these areas will be valuable:

• Cloud engineering and security, preferably in Microsoft Azure (AWS and/or GCP are also relevant).

• Microsoft security technologies, such as Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.

• Scripting or programming, preferably Python.

• Knowledge of platform engineering, modern infrastructure practices and Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.

• Security tools and agents, such as XDR solutions, SIEMs and other security products.

• Practical understanding of safe and effective use of AI in engineering workflows.

Personal qualities

• You have a strong interest in security and emerging technology trends, including AI.
