Legal Advisor

Kongsberg Discovery is seeking a commercially minded and proactive Legal Advisor to join our legal team.

In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders across international and technology-driven projects, supporting commercial decisions, innovation initiatives, and complex contractual matters. You will become an integrated part of the business, contributing from the early stages of projects and helping shape direction in a highly competent and collaborative environment.

Our legal team works closely with operational, technical, and commercial environments across the organization. We are looking for someone who thrives in the intersection between law, technology, and business, and who enjoys solving complex matters in a practical and forward-leaning way.

What you will be doing

• Draft, review, and negotiate national and international commercial contracts with customers and suppliers
• Provide legal support in technology-driven and strategically important projects from an early stage
• Support matters related to intellectual property rights, technology development, and innovation projects
• Advise operational and commercial teams on legal and regulatory matters
• Handle company law matters and support corporate governance processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Assist in dispute management and coordinate with external legal counsel when needed

Qualifications

• Master of Laws degree (LL.M. / Cand.jur.)
• Several years of relevant legal experience, preferably from an in-house legal environment
• Solid expertise within contract law and strong commercial understanding
• Experience from technology, maritime, energy, industrial, or other engineering-driven environments is considered an advantage
• Experience with intellectual property rights and technology-related legal matters is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
