We are currently seeking:
Project engineer (piping/mechanical)
BW LNG is seeking a skilled and dedicated Piping/Mechanical Engineer to join our Newbuilding & Projects department in Oslo. Our department is composed of thirteen experienced maritime professionals across key technical, project, and support functions. Together, we manage newbuilding- and conversion projects, as well as technical business development, as one of few shipowners having their own inhouse resources.
About the Role:
As our new Piping/Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting newbuild, conversion, and modification projects. In this role, you will give expertise related to piping and mechanical aspects of newbuild and conversion projects—from gas vessels to FSRUs/FSUs. You will work closely with the project team, including the project manager, engineering manager, other discipline specialists, as well as other stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting technical evaluations of piping and mechanical systems and equipment for various projects
- Performing feasibility studies and technical assessments for new and ongoing projects
- Reviewing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation
- Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to meet project requirements
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and conducting inspections during construction and installation phases
- Collaborating with the Project Manager to manage timelines and project deliverables
- Actively participating in technical problem-solving and refinement of engineering solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical / marine engineering, or a related field
- relevant experience in the maritime or shipping industry
- solid expertise in the design, evaluation, and implementation of piping and mechanical systems
- preferably experience within LNG and/or cryogenic systems
- familiarity with maritime industry standards and regulations
- strong command of English, both spoken and written

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Adaptability and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

Location:
- The position will be based in our modern office at Skøyen in Oslo. Please be aware that one is expected to meet in the office 3-5 days a week
- Traveling will be required for this position
- You do require a Norwegian work permit, as VISA application and relocation will not be considered for this role
