We´re seeking a Senior Network Engineer
Join us in continuing to revolutionize ocean space operations!
Some of our systems operate where bandwidth is scarce, latency is real, and downtime is critical. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who enjoys solving networking challenges in exactly these kinds of environments.
This is a product engineering role, not traditional IT operations. You will help design and improve the connectivity architecture for systems deployed globally, often where reliability is mission-critical.
You will work with routing, switching, secure network architecture, Fortinet technologies, SD-WAN, VPN, and communication over challenging links. Just as importantly, you will help shape our strategic approach to networking within our products.
After a year with us, we hope you have strengthened the architecture of our solutions and elevated how we design for resilient connectivity.
In this role, you will be part of our IT team and report directly to the IT Manager.
Your key responsibilities:
Designing and improving the network architecture within our products.
Troubleshooting and optimizing distributed and secure network solutions.
Solving communication challenges across satellite and constrained links.
Supporting product teams and customer-facing solutions with high-level networking expertise.
Scaling connectivity by improving how we build and implement networking across our product line.
Relevant expertise in this role:
Advanced networking: Extensive experience with routing, switching, and secure network architecture.
Technical stack: Experience with Fortinet, SD-WAN, and VPN is highly relevant.
Mission-critical systems: Experience from maritime, offshore, or defense environments is a significant advantage, but not a requirement.
Who are you, then?
Architectural problem solver: You combine deep architectural understanding with hands-on troubleshooting to translate complex networking hurdles into reliable solutions.
Methodical & calm: You work analytically and stay composed when uptime is critical, ensuring long-term consistency even under challenging conditions.
Systems & security oriented: You see the big picture of global communication systems and always prioritize a security-first mindset.
Team catalyst & continuous learner: You are a curious, collaborative professional who enjoys sharing knowledge, mastering new technologies, and strengthening those around you.
Value-driven: You are energized by and take true ownership of our core values: Innovate! Enable! Deliver!
What we offer:
A stimulating and dynamic work environment at the forefront of innovative maritime technology.
A meaningful job with an important social mission. The autonomy we create ensures sustainable, efficient, and safe ocean space operations worldwide
A collaborative and growing team of passionate and highly competent professionals.
Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
A comprehensive and well-organized benefits package.
A strong sense of community, plenty of humour, and social activities that bind us together in a busy everyday life.

The position is based in Trondheim, offering a flexible work environment with the option for a home office.
Please note that this role may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM) and is subject to a background check.
Ready to join the team? We're already excited to meet you!

Om arbeidsgiveren
Since 2005, Maritime Robotics has pioneered and led the development of advanced sea drones (Uncrewed Surface Vessels USVs) and maritime autonomy. Our core technology, the autonomous navigation system (ANS), enables safe and efficient remote and autonomous operations at sea.
These robotic solutions are vital for precise seabed mapping, ocean research, securing marine infrastructure, and operations in challenging environments. Globally deployed ANS and USVs contribute to sustainable, efficient, and safe maritime navigation, minimizing fuel use. In today’s world, our technology is also crucial for protecting communities and assets. We see growing demand from defence, security, hydrography, marine construction, and the energy sector.
