Summer Internship 2026 – Learn about DNO and participate in daily work with challenging tasks. Network with experts and develop your technical and non-technical skills in a great working environment.
We are looking for students that are studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in petroleum engineering, science, G&G or equivalent. The candidate should have completed at least two years of studies.
G&G, Exploration (1 position)
We are looking for:
Students studying G&G who have completed at least two years of Bachelor-level studies
Good understanding of geological principles
Good IT skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
Motivated and curious students who are eager to learn, ask questions, and work thoroughly
D&W (1 position)
Main tasks:
AI Cost Estimation (D&W) - Develop AI-driven tools for automated well cost estimation for decision gates and AFE level budgets.
Additional task - Assist with follow-up of partner operated wells. DNO has about 3-5 ongoing non-operated wells under construction on the NCS. These can be development wells and exploration/appraisal wells. As part of the see-to-to duty, DNO is monitoring the daily operations through review of operational reports, interaction with the operator and attendance in work meetings.
Drilling Lessons Learned Database - Build a searchable AI assistant trained (Copilot if feasible) using internal final well reports / lessons learned spread sheets
Carbon Footprint of Well Construction - Quantify CO2 footprint per well
Organisation, Decision and Action Management, Production (1 position)
Main tasks:
With supervisor, agree on 1-2 focus processes, e.g. fast-track projects, planning, KFAs, operations management, Non-op asset management, etc
Observe and research/sample the relevant process(s), under supervisor guidance, observe and critique effectiveness of priroitisation / focus / action management,
Propose improvements such as action tracking systems; include investigating potential for use of technology,
Write a report summarising the above
Reservoir Engineer, Subsurface (1 position)
We are looking for:
Student studying Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering who has completed at least three years of studies
Good understanding of subsurface principles and some commands of PetrelRE/Eclipse
Good IT skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
Motivated and curious students who are eager to learn, ask questions, and work thoroughly
The internship runs between June and August 2026 (exact timing agreed with your manager) and lasts around 6–8 weeks. Necessary training and support will be provided. During the internship period you will grow your skills, expand your network and gain hands-on experience. You will also meet fellow interns, join social activities and experience what is like to work in an oil and gas company.
