Are you an ambitious engineering student in your 4th or 5th year, ready to turn theory into real-world impact? This summer, join Altera for a 6–8 week internship where you’ll work on real projects in the offshore energy industry — not just observe from the sidelines.

At Altera, we design, deliver, and operate advanced floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) — complex offshore assets operating in deep water and harsh environments. With over 50 years of experience as an independent FPSO operator, we take on large-scale, technically demanding projects that require sharp engineering skills and strong project execution.

For summer 2026, we are hiring summer interns within:

Supply Chain (1 position)
Operational support / Engineering (2 positions)

Duties and responsibilities

Take this opportunity to gain insight, make an impact, and grow your expertise in an innovative and supportive environment!

Spend your summer gaining hands-on experience in our Supply Chain team, working with real commercial data and supplier strategy.
What you will be doing:

- Analyze historical cost data for major equipment packages.
- Develop and improve a cost benchmarking tool.
- Identify data sources for forecasting cost, capacity, and demand.
- Build Power BI dashboards and connect data across internal systems.
- Screen and evaluate new equipment suppliers.
- Support development of a demand forecasting tool for newbuilds and redeployments

Get hands-on experience improving maintenance processes and managing technical data across assets as part of our Operations and Engineering team.
What you will be doing:

- Help implement and structure maintenance routines in our STAR CMMS system.
- Review, clean up, and verify maintenance and LCI data for ongoing projects.
- Support the rollout of new checklist functionality in STAR CMMS for both new and existing assets.

Qualifications

Experience & education for the Supply Chain summer intern position:

• Business administration, Industrial Engineering, Engineering and Project Management.
• Experience from Oil and Gas EPC or Engineering Company an advantage
• Power BI skills

Experience & education for the Operations/Engineering summer intern position:

• Operation and maintenance, Mechanical engineering, Cybernetic, Process and production.
• Electrical and Instrumentation will also be considered.
• Experience from Oil and Gas EPC or Engineering Company an advantage

Personal qualities

• A curious mindset with the ability to think beyond their own discipline.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Determination and efficiency when working independently.
• Language skills: Norwegian and English.
• Available during summer (approx. mid June - mid August)
• You need to be based in Trondheim.
