Drive civil engineering excellence and cost control in offshore wind
Jefferson Wells is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients in the energy sector. We are looking for an experienced Onshore Civil Lead who will be responsible for the development and follow up of the onshore scope within a major offshore wind project. The role combines civil engineering leadership with responsibility for cost development within the onshore department.
Tasks and Responsibilities
You will play a key role in developing and following up the onshore scope, including landfall, cable corridor and onshore substation, as well as leading cost development activities. Your main responsibilities include:
• Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering work in early phase and execution
• Follow up contractors to secure quality, progress and alignment with scope, budget and schedule
• Provide technical input, clarifications and support to internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to design basis, discipline requirements, technical evaluations and decision support
• Support ground investigations, site assessments and civil inputs to procurement
• Handle discipline-related queries such as SQs, TQs and NCRs
• Lead cost development work, including cost data collection, cost basis updates and cost forecasting
• Maintain onshore risk lists and contribute to early phase cost and risk assessments
Background and Qualifications
• Degree in civil engineering or similar relevant discipline
• Minimum 5 years experience from onshore construction, preferably 10 years
• Experience from offshore wind, landfall, cable corridors or substations is an advantage
• Strong understanding of cost breakdowns, cost development and risk
• Ability to follow up contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Fluent in English
