Agile Software Engineer

About the Role

Kontur is expanding its R&D team and seeking an agile Software Engineer with hands-on experience developing robust client-server solutions. In this role, you will play a central part in advancing our Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) product portfolio and software suite, used worldwide to visualize, interpret, and unveil what lies beneath the surface. The position is based at our Trondheim headquarters and reports directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve the development and testing toolchain, including CI/CD pipelines

• Design and implement intuitive GUIs for touch-enabled devices

• Contribute to the development of state-of-the-art products based on AI, sensor fusion, and real-time signal processing

• Conduct software and system-level testing to ensure reliability and performance

• Development of customer-facing APIs for integration into third-party solutions.

• Agile best practice full cycle software development

Experience/Qualifications:

• Relevant background in computer science, cybernetics, electronics, or a related field

• Hands-on, practical problem solver with strong technical curiosity

• Experience with agile software development principles

• Strong focus on software quality and maintainability

• C++, C# and/or Java programming

• Solid understanding of client-server architectures and network infrastructure

• Experience with Python is beneficial, but not essential

• Familiar Windows/Linux cross-platform development

• Experience with GUI development and frameworks such as QT, Swing or similar

• Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies

Position is open to both early-career and senior developers.
