Head of Communication at Kongsberg Maritime

Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a Head of Communication for a newly established position in a rapidly growing company. Kongsberg Maritime is one of the worlds leading maritime companies, with more than 8,000 employees across 35 countries. Our solutions help develop and shape the global maritime industry.

At the end of April this year, we will be spun off from Kongsberg Gruppen and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. We are heading into an exciting future and are looking for a strong communicator to join our team. The role spans a wide range of responsibilities, from internal and external communication to leadership, advisory work, and crisis preparedness.

In this position, you will report to the Vice President Communications and act as his deputy when required. You will have people management responsibility for a skilled team of communicators and ensure the day-to-day operation of the communications department in all its aspects.

A key part of the role will be to ensure that our employees are well informed and engaged in what is happening within the company, while also helping external stakeholders and the wider public understand Kongsberg Maritimes contribution to society. Another important responsibility will be to contribute to the development of communication strategies and plans, and to implement these together with the department.

We are looking for someone with experience in both internal and external communications at strategic and operational levels, experience as a media spokesperson, and leadership experience. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English, and a relevant higher education. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education requirements.

You should have experience from larger commercial organisations, preferably with international operations. You take initiative, are a strong relationship builder, and create trust with colleagues and leaders through collaboration, active listening, and professional sparring. You quickly grasp complex issues and have a strong interest in society and current affairs.

Kongsberg, Oslo (Lysaker), Ålesund, or Horten. You should be prepared to spend significant time at our offices in Kongsberg and Oslo, and some travel should be expected.
