The role of Global Research and Category Insights Manager will be responsible for driving consumer, category and market insights that support business decisions, innovation, and growth across the specialized categories portfolio (oral health, wound care, functional personal care). This role ensures that strategic choices — including innovation, portfolio development, and potential acquisitions — are grounded in robust data, market understanding, and deep consumer knowledge.
The role will report to the Global Category Director Oral Health.
Key tasks and responsibilities
The Global Research and Category Insights Manager drives consumer, category and market understanding to guide strategic decisions and business growth. The role combines analytical expertise with strategic thinking to turn data into actionable insights.
Key tasks:
- Identify growth opportunities, trends, and market dynamics through analysis of internal and external data sources (e.g., Nielsen, POS data, Euromonitor, Mintel etc.).
- Lead category and competitive analyses to support category and brand strategies.
- Involve in group reporting on internal financial data and set connections with external data sources
- Ensure consumer and market insights are embedded in the category work with innovation and brand strategies.
- Design and manage qualitative and quantitative research projects in collaboration with external agencies.
- Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to category team.
- Support M&A evaluations by providing market, category and consumer analyses to identify and assess potential acquisition targets.
- Help build a data-driven insights culture - transforming data into strategic action across the organization.
- Act as a trusted business partner for the category team across specialized categories.
- Support inspiring culture. Encourage sharing of initiatives, insights, ideas and success stories across markets.
- Brand tracking setup together with OMI across all markets.
Key Performance Indicators
- Deliver insight-driven analyses that clearly highlight growth opportunities, emerging trends, and category dynamics, leveraging extraordinary structuring and organizational skills to ensure clarity and impact.
- Ensure consumer and market insights are systematically integrated into innovation pipelines and brand planning processes.
- Support M&A evaluations through robust, well-structured market, category, and consumer analyses.
- Contribute to a data-driven and insight-led culture across the organization by translating complex data into actionable, strategically relevant insights that drive business growth.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience within market research, category management, consumer insights, or business analysis, preferably in the FMCG industry or from research agencies.
- Experience with data analysis and dashboard tools (Power BI, Nielsen Answers, GfK, etc.).
- Experience supporting strategic business cases, market sizing and M&A evaluations is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations.
- Relevant academic degree (e.g., MSc in Business, Economics or equivalent).
- Fluency in English, and preferably any Scandinavian language (both verbally and written)

Location
Flexible. Willingness to travel is needed.
