Senior Subsea Engineer
Location: Lysaker
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Subsea Engineer to support and follow up the delivery of subsea systems throughout all project phases. You will oversee contractor performance, ensure compliance with contractual and technical standards, and contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. The position needs extensive experience in subsea production systems and strong interface management skills.
Main responsibilities
Contractor follow-up and technical compliance
- Monitor and follow up the contractor’s implementation of contractual needs for WH, XT, and WOS, including associated testing.
- Ensure the contractor’s engineering methods, procedures, and organizational setup are sufficient for the defined scope.
- Establish and maintain formal communication channels, ensuring clear and documented dialogue with the contractor.
- Follow up verification activities, inspections, and testing to secure compliance.
Health, safety and quality
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Work Environment standards are adhered to in accordance with project standards.
- Ensure compliance with the project quality system.
- Plan, perform, and report quality surveillance (QS) activities.
Interface and scope coordination
- Monitor that interface information flows efficiently between contractors.
- Ensure proper management of interfaces towards drilling and well (D&W).
- Participate actively in interface meetings and coordination processes.
Project reporting and progress management
- Report progress and cost against the project schedule.
- Give input to weekly and monthly project reports.
- Monitor resource usage and progress across activities.
- Identify and implement changes in accordance with the change control procedure, in close collaboration with the System Engineering Manager.
- Contribute to the project risk register and follow up mitigation actions.
Commissioning and handover
- Ensure proper verification, testing, and inspection activities leading up to commissioning.
- Support the transition from Project to Operations and readiness-for-operation activities.
- Document and report lessons learned.
Qualifications
- Higher education (university degree) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the offshore industry.
- Minimum 10 years of specialized experience in subsea production system follow-up.
- Detailed knowledge of TFMC subsea systems, preferably with familiarity from the Eiga project portfolio.
- Strong understanding of subsea engineering methods, quality processes, and contractor management.
- Fluent in Norwegian and English (written and verbal).
