About the role
We are seeking a Project Field Engineer to join our Offshore/Site Construction Team. You will translate approved Task Plans/Method Statements/Work Instructions into practice, lead optimization and troubleshooting on deck and onboard, and drive technical solutions in close collaboration with our office and site/vessel teams. You’ll act as a key interface between vessel/site and office, helping secure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution across projects.
Key responsibilities
Execute approved procedures on deck and onboard as part of the Offshore/Site Construction Team.
Contribute to method statements and risk assessments; provide technical feedback to the office project engineering team.
Ensure construction methods and equipment comply with industry standards and project specifications.
Champion a strong safety culture and quality mindset across all construction activities.
Interface between site/vessel and office teams, including input to planning, progress, budget control and cost monitoring.
Ensure technical interface among Project, Construction and Marine personnel onboard, including contributions to DPR.
Support HSE on site/onboard to meet the highest HSEQ standards.
Capture and file all quality documentation (pre-checks, post-surveys, as-built documentation, external reports) in the Quality DMS.
Follow up relevant actions and MOC; handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by the OCM.
Provide operational guidance for mobilisation, equipment, construction activities and crew.
Participate in engineering studies for construction operations with internal resources and qualified subcontractors.
Engage with clients, contractors and stakeholders: provide updates and address technical queries.
Support internal development of processes and ways of working, including Lessons Learned and proposing new methodologies to improve safety and efficiency.
Qualifications / Education & skills
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., civil engineering, naval architecture, steel design, offshore construction).
Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001.
Strong IT skills; advanced user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Experience
3–5 years of relevant experience in offshore monopile construction, WTG installation, cable laying, or oil & gas offshore construction.
Certifications & offshore requirements
GWO: Working at Height, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Sea Survival
GWO Enhanced First Aid (optional but increasingly requested)
BOSIET, HUET, CA-EBS
Chester Step Test, OGUK Medical
MIST (UK only)
