Helly Hansen is looking for a Product Developer/Compliance and Certification Coordinator (temp)

Helly Hansen seeks Product Developer/Compliance and Certification Coordinator (temporary -maternity leave) for the Sailing category.

In this position you will be responsible for certifications, compliance and product development of our Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) for both our brands, Helly Hansen and Musto.

Key Accountabilities:

• Define certification requirements during development stage for each season together with Product Director, Category Managing Director Sailing and Certification Manager
• Build, maintain and track certification database
• Ensure all printed and digital material has correct certification info
• Daily communications with our vendors as well as the nominated test institutes
• Overview of certification costs and certification budget
• Develop briefed products based on the category’s design direction and target costs
• Manage product development from proto sample to counter sample including tech pack creation, prototype reviews, fit sessions together with pattern team, costing and vendor communication
• Critically review and negotiate prices towards a price target for all prototypes. Manage the costing process to ensure consistent, accurate cost sheets are received from all vendors and approvals are clearly communicated internally and externally
• Maintain an accurate database of BOM information that will result in efficient raw material purchasing and accurately produced finished product
• Ensure each step of the development process is aligned with the certification requirements for each product
• To take active part and contribute to internal- and external presentations if asked to
• To meet design and development critical milestones for product commercialization
• Vendor visits in Europe and Asia on regular basis when needed

Critical Partnerships:

Development Director, Category Vice President, Product Team, Fabric Team, Sourcing and Factories.

Experiences and capabilities:

• Min 5 years of working with product development of certified products
• Degree in textile engineering, industrial design or equivalent working experience from the industry
• Extensive knowledge of technical constructions and working with Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) is preferred
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) legislation is a plus
• High organizational skills
• Capability of driving your own projects, prioritize and execute
• Great time management skills
• A good team player and self-propelled
• Experience of working with Asia garment vendors and manufacturers
• Language skills – must be fluent in written and spoken English
• Experienced working with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office programs. Working with PLM systems is a plus. We use Centric PLM
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
