Position Overview 

As a Senior Financial Controller at Xplora, you will play a pivotal role in our financial reporting and actively contribute to a wide range of exciting projects beyond the realm of financial control. This role offers significant breadth, and you will collaborate with a team of dedicated and competent professionals. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, your work will be instrumental in supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a central contributor to financial reporting processes.
• Assist in month-end closing activities including reconciliation of profit and loss accounts, relevant balance sheet accounts, and other financial reports.
• Contribute to the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities in different currencies on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate closely with sales and logistic teams to oversee critical reconciliations and controls (e.g., sales orders, invoices, stock, VAT).
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory laws, and oversee the ongoing assessment of accounting and taxation-related issues for reporting by local accountants (VAT, sales, tax).
• Manage cash flow and ensure Treasury operations align with group guidelines.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and digitization initiatives within the accounting area.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks and reporting assignments.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with minimum of Bachelor`s degree within areas such as accounting, financial management or economics and someone with a minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience from a Financial Controller and / or Accounting position.

Other key criteria:

• Proficiency in accounting and finance, including expertise in global VAT, foreign currency, reconciliation, review, and consolidation.
• Strong competence in relevant IT systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI, with advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent in English and ideally Norwegian
• Highly organized and analytical, with a strong grasp of numerical data.
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently with a structured and methodical approach.
• Strong team player, with a proactive attitude toward meeting deadlines and improving work processes.
• A positive contributor to the working environment, spreading enthusiasm and positivity to colleagues.
