Network & Security Engineer

In this role, you will be an integral part of our dynamic Connectivity Network team, contributing your expertise to the development, operation, and continuous improvement of our connectivity platforms. We are looking for a motivated engineer with a strong interest in networking and cybersecurity to work with connectivity solutions spanning industrial and cloud environments. You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving network and security infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, helping ensure secure, reliable, and resilient connectivity solutions.

What you will be doing

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco network infrastructure including routing, switching, and VPNs. Experience with network equipment from other vendors such as Moxa will be an advantage.
• Support Azure networking services, such as VNets, VPN Gateways, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Azure Firewall.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity and security issues.
• Implement security policies, access controls, and firewall rules following cybersecurity best practices.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Assist with network automation initiatives using APIs and tools such as Ansible.
• Support cloud and hybrid network connectivity solutions.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Manage Fortinet security solutions including FortiGate firewalls and VPN connectivity. 
  
  

We think you should have

• Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP Routing, Switching, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience with Fortinet firewalls and security solutions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking concepts.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and security best practices.
• Experience with Python scripting and network automation concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and Ansible.
• Knowledge of Linux for use in automation and data manipulation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Norwegian and/or English skills.

Having any of the following Certifications will be an advantage

• Cisco CCNA or CCNP
• Fortinet NSE / FCF / FCA Certifications
• Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Network Engineer
• Security+

Education and Experience

• Master's degree or bachelor's degree in field relevant for the position (ICT, Networking, Engineering)
• 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Security, or Infrastructure Support.
• Experience supporting enterprise and/or cloud networking environments.
• Experience with automation and scripting technologies.
