Description:
A stunning and highly decorative gemstone world globe featuring exceptional craftsmanship. Unlike standard gemstone globes, the ocean surface on this sphere is meticulously covered with a mosaic of diamond-shaped pieces of natural Mother-of-Pearl (Nacre), creating a luxurious, iridescent sheen that reflects light beautifully from every angle.
The countries and continents are carved and inlaid from an exquisite array of polished natural semi-precious stones (including lapis lazuli, jasper, marble, and agate). The globe is supported by a solid, polished gold-tone frame with latitude calibration, resting on a sturdy tripod base featuring an integrated vintage-style brass compass at its center.
Tilstandsvurdering:
In overall very fine vintage condition with brilliant luster and bright metal finish. As shown in the detailed photos (including photo 107274555), there is a fine hairline surface crack in the clear protective resin layer on one portion of the globe. This is purely cosmetic and does not compromise the structural integrity, surface smoothness, or display quality of the piece.
