Key Differences
• Video Outputs:
• P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3: Features onboard video outputs (HDMI, DVI, and VGA) to use integrated graphics and LucidLogix Virtu.
• P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3: Lacks any physical onboard video output ports on the rear panel; a discrete graphics card is required for the system to function (though it still supports internal GPU transcoding features via Virtu if a dedicated card is installed).
• Network / LAN:
• P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3: Comes with a single Intel Gigabit Ethernet port.
• P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3: Upgraded to dual Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports.
• Connectivity & Expansion:
• P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3: Generally includes extra internal/external connectivity options out-of-the-box, such as more SATA 6Gb/s ports, a hardware Clear CMOS button on the rear I/O, and Bluetooth support (varies slightly by bundle package).
• P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3: Includes FireWire (IEEE 1394a) ports and internal headers which the Deluxe may handle differently, and comes with a 2x USB 3.0 front/rear bracket accessory depending on the package.
• Positioning & Price:
• The Deluxe/GEN3 was positioned as a higher-end flagship board (originally priced higher around ~€229), whereas the Pro/GEN3 sat in the popular mid-range "sweet spot" (~€185).
