Operations Manager | Lead Technical Teams Across Complex Projects

About CxS Nordics

CxS Nordics, part of the CTS Group, provides specialist commissioning services across the Nordic region, Europe and beyond. We support complex technical projects through independent commissioning expertise, helping our clients ensure that critical systems are properly tested, verified, and ready for operation.

We bring together technical expertise, industry experience, and a strong commitment to quality and project delivery. Our people work closely with clients, project teams, and partners to deliver reliable commissioning solutions and continuously improve the way we work.

Our Values

  •  Act Professionally: We uphold the highest standards of integrity and technical excellence in every interaction.
  •  Be Honest & Trustworthy: Transparency and accountability define how we operate with our clients, partners, and each other.
  •  Strive for the Best: We continuously raise the bar, driving quality and innovation in every project we deliver.

CxS Nordics is now looking for an Operations Manager to lead and support our technical teams and play an important role in the continued growth and development of our operations.

This is a key role for someone who enjoys leading people, coordinating resources and keeping complex technical projects moving forward. You will have line management responsibility for a team of Commissioning Managers, Commissioning Leads and Commissioning Technicians, while overseeing dedicated projects from start through to final handover.

You will work primarily from our Oslo office, with travel to project sites when required.

About the role

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right people, competence and resources in place to deliver our projects effectively.

You will work closely with the COO, management, Bid Managers and technical teams across different locations. A central part of the role will be resource planning and coordination across projects, while supporting Commissioning Managers and project teams in maintaining progress, quality and effective delivery.

The role combines people leadership, resource planning and project operations. You will be close enough to our projects to understand what is happening on site, while keeping the broader overview of staffing, competence, schedules and operational priorities.

CxS Nordics is growing, which means priorities can change quickly. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and finding practical solutions when plans change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a defined team of Commissioning Managers, Commissioning Leads and Commissioning Technicians.
  • Take responsibility for employee follow-up, onboarding, performance discussions, competence development and training.
  • Plan and coordinate resources across projects, including rotation schedules, working hours and vacation planning.
  • Oversee dedicated projects from project start through to final handover, with focus on staffing, progress and service delivery.
  • Support the planning and sequencing of commissioning activities together with project and technical teams.
  • Set up new projects according to established procedures and ensure the required resources and competencies are available.
  • Work closely with Commissioning Managers and support project teams when operational challenges or urgent resource needs arise.
  • Support the Bid Manager during tender and bidding processes with resource plans, operational input and relevant documentation.
  • Support recruitment and interviewing of technical personnel together with the COO.
  • Ensure competence and training records are maintained and updated.
  • Support HSE and operational requirements within your area of responsibility.
  • Travel to project locations when required to support and follow up project teams.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who understands how to manage technical people and resources across multiple projects.

You do not necessarily need to come from the data center industry. A background in electrical services, technical contracting, commissioning, construction, industrial projects or another technical service environment could be highly relevant.

You are structured, comfortable handling several priorities at once and able to communicate clearly with everyone from technicians and project teams to management and clients.

You likely have:

  • Experience leading or coordinating technical personnel, ideally electricians, technicians, engineers or commissioning professionals.
  • Strong experience with resource planning, staffing and operational coordination.
  • Experience from electrical, technical service, commissioning, construction or other complex technical project environments.
  • Experience following project progress and coordinating resources across multiple projects.
  • A practical understanding of how technical work is planned and executed on site.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to take ownership of operational issues.
  • Good cooperation and relationship-building skills across different teams and levels of an organization.
  • Experience using project management tools, Office 365 and relevant operational software.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • The ability and willingness to travel to project locations when required.

Experience from data centers, critical infrastructure or other mission-critical technical environments will be considered an advantage, but is not a requirement.

A degree in Engineering, Construction, Business Management or a related field is also an advantage. For us, relevant operational and leadership experience is equally important.

What we offer

  • A key operational role in a fast-growing company.
  • The opportunity to lead and develop technical professionals working on complex international projects.
  • Significant responsibility and influence over how resources and projects are managed.
  • Close collaboration with the COO, management team and technical leadership.
  • Exposure to some of the most advanced data center and critical infrastructure projects in the Nordics.
  • An international and professional working environment with short decision-making processes.
  • An Oslo-based position with travel to project locations when required.
  • Competitive salary and conditions.

Don't meet every requirement?

Research shows that women and other underrepresented groups are often less likely to apply for a role unless they meet every qualification. At CxS, we value diversity and believe that different perspectives and experiences strengthen our organization.

If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply. Your experience may be a great fit for this position, or for another opportunity with us.

How to apply

Apply through this advertisement and upload your updated CV. No long cover letter is needed.

Relevant candidates will be contacted continuously, and the position may be filled before the deadline.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge you are looking for, we would like to hear from you.
