New crystal and strap
This automatic watch from the late 1950s uses the popular Felsa 4002 movement. The watch has a little wear to the plated gold case but is looking pretty good for its age. The easy to read dial has developed a nice patina and has the lovely authentic vintage look to it.
The watch has been serviced and is running reliably and within the ±30 seconds a day that it would have come from the factory with. The amplitude is a little lower than I would like but since this is an automatic watch it will remain close to fully wound while in use and this should not affect the timekeeping.
The watch is from the era where they added jewels in non functional locations and boasted a high number of jewels - So while the watch says 30 jewels it only has 21 or 22 in functional locations
Optima is a Swiss brand that seemed to have stopped producing watches in the late 1960s but is now back producing Swiss made watches again since 2004 (Their site says Since 1923)

About me:
As a pastime I buy old watches and try to restore them to their former glory. To fund my hobby I have decided to sell some of the watches I believe are ready to be, and should be, worn again. The watches I work on are typically those where the paying the price of a full professional service would be hard to justify. Each watch is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, re-assembled, lubricated (with top end modern synthetic oils), demagnetised and then regulated to run as accurately as possible. If spare parts are needed, original parts are ordered or salvaged from watches with the same movements. New gaskets are installed and, if needed, the mainspring and crystal are replaced and a new strap fitted
