Shakespeare's Life and World is a 2004 hardcover book compiled and introduced by the late literary historian Katherine Duncan-Jones and published by The Folio Society in London. It presents a biographical overview of William Shakespeare set against the backdrop of his contemporary era.
A lovely hardback book, with beautiful gilt title inpressions, running down the spine. The book comes with its own slipcase, which is in really good condtion, some finger marks. Normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. 308 pages, all pages intact, all readable and in fine condition. Introduction by Katherine Duncan-Jones. Endpapers: Two London scenes from The Copper Plate Map, Title page: View of the City of London, Southwark, before the Great Fire, with an inset of "The Taylor Portrait" of William Shakespeare. Typset at the Folio Society in Baskerville with Helvetica display. Printed at Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, on Fineblade Smooth Paper and quarter bound by them in buckram with printed paper sides designed by Chris Wadden. A truly lovely book with nice illustrations, well researched and put together and certainly a piece of literature to have in the home library.
