We are looking for a skilled Data Center Engineer to join an exciting project at the Bulk Data Center in Øvrebø, near Kristiansand. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a modern and highly advanced data center environment, contributing to the future of sustainable technology.

? Planned start: Fall 2026

As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical IT infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Daily operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of a large-scale server environment with GPU-based systems.
  • Perform hardware break-fix activities, including diagnosing and replacing components such as GPUs, memory modules, storage drives, network adapters, and cabling according to vendor procedures.
  • Run diagnostic tools, perform firmware and BIOS updates, and troubleshoot issues using remote management tools.
  • Operate and troubleshoot high-speed network infrastructure, including cabling and transceivers.
  • Monitor and support liquid-cooled infrastructure systems.
  • Manage and process support tickets, collect logs, and coordinate escalations with vendors and customers.
  • Receive, rack, install, and commission new hardware (rack & stack).
  • Manage spare parts inventory and warehouse operations, including RMA processes.
  • Coordinate activities with customers, vendors, and external technicians.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of completed work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in data center operations and IT infrastructure, with

  • Education in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
  • Experience working in data center environments, server operations, or network infrastructure. Relevant hands-on experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Experience with enterprise server environments and hardware maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of server architecture and hardware platforms.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line environments.
  • Knowledge of CAT5, CAT6, CAT7, and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Experience with Dell servers and relevant certifications is considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex IT infrastructure and networking environments.

  • Have a strong written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English. All documentation and communication with customers and vendors are conducted in English.
  • Proficient in Norwegian, both written and spoken.
  • Structured and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Physically capable of handling heavy hardware, cabling, and working in a data center environment.
  • Have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Have a basic understanding of server architecture.
  • Familiar with Linux and command-line environments.
