Infrastructure Engineer
Pra Group Europe AS
- Søknadsfrist As soon as possible.
- Ansettelsesform Fast
Lead the infrastructure behind PRA Group's European operations.
Are you the person your colleagues come to when the network has to work? PRA Group Europe is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who is ready and keen to take the lead on the network environment that keeps our European operations running.
The role
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving a secure, stable and scalable network environment supporting roughly 1,000 users across 12 European locations.
We work in financial services and handle personal information about people's finances, so stability and security matter here in a very practical way. When the network works, colleagues across Europe can get on with helping customers.
You will be part of the Central IT team in Oslo, working alongside 15 skilled colleagues and in close cooperation with InfoSec, local IT departments and our development and application teams. There is no on-call rota. The role is based in our Oslo office and follows a hybrid working model.
What you will be working on
- Leading the work on our network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and Azure connectivity
- Contributing to other Azure/server tasks
- Keeping services stable, performant and secure
- Operating and improving our monitoring and alerting solutions
- Investigating and resolving incidents
- Taking part in IT and security projects
- Managing procurement, lifecycle and licensing of network equipment and related systems
- Putting policies and standards into practice across locations
- Keeping technical documentation and operational routines accurate and useful
What we are looking for
You have hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of:
- Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
- Cisco or comparable network equipment (switches and Wi-Fi)
The following are also advantages:
- Scripting and automation
- Cisco ISE
- PKI and certificate management
- Windows Server and client environments
- Azure and Microsoft 365
- Linux
- Relevant certifications, for example from Palo Alto or Cisco
- Relevant higher education
English is our working language. Knowledge of a Nordic language is helpful in the Oslo office and in dialogue with local IT teams.
You may not tick every single box, and that is fine. If you have solid experience with firewalls and networking, and want to take on a broader role, we would like to hear from you.
How you work
You take initiative, prioritise well and enjoy having a domain you can shape over time. You like solving problems and finding out why something behaves the way it does, and you are comfortable making decisions on your own when needed. You share what you know with colleagues, document as you go and look for ways to make things work better rather than settling for what already runs.
What we offer
- A key role with real influence on how our network is built and developed
- Work across both cloud networking and on-premises environments
- The chance to contribute beyond your core area and broaden your skill set
- A team of experienced colleagues in Central IT who work closely together
- Competitive terms and a bonus scheme
- Oslo-based position with a hybrid working model
