A fantastic light weight vintage P Bass.
A real gem of a vintage P Bass. The neck is straight with a low action and will never move (after 56 years). Original pickups and electronics sound fantastic. Strung with flats, it really thumps even when played with a light touch. B neck width. Dark rosewood board.
Black was a custom colour in 1970. The original white (now yellowed to cream) has a crack and so I removed it to preserve it. The current tort guard is not original. I also have a spare white pick guard to return it to it´s original look (The Who, Isle of White, 1970).
Neck date (as I recall) is January 1971 which is therefore the true production year with a 1970 serial number. The exact weight I will need to verify, but it´s around 3.5kg.
This is a great P bass which is sublime to play and sounds terrific.
