This receiver has undergone a comprehensive professional service by Proton Audio, one of Poland's most respected vintage audio restoration specialists.
The service included:
• driver board service
• protection circuit service
• replacement of the speaker protection relay
• replacement of selected transistors where necessary
• replacement of electrolytic capacitors
• bias and operating point adjustment
• PCB cleaning and solder joint restoration where required
• selector switch cleaning and servicing
In addition, the entire receiver was meticulously disassembled, cleaned and carefully restored. The interior is exceptionally clean and reflects the level of care invested in this unit.
The receiver retains its complete set of original output transistors.
The original main filter capacitors have been retained. They were tested during servicing and continue to meet specification.
This is the highly desirable Sansui 9090 NON-DB version, without the Dolby board used in the 9090DB. Thanks to its simpler design, the NON-DB model is widely appreciated by Sansui enthusiasts for its reliability and ease of maintenance.
The wooden cabinet has been professionally restored using new American walnut veneer, carefully selected to match the original Sansui appearance. The cabinet was finished using an open-pore lacquer process, preserving the natural look and texture of the wood.
Original Proton Audio service invoices will be included with the receiver. If anyone is interested in buying it, I'm in Poland and I can bring it to you, it's in my house in Poland by the end of the week
