Building a New Offshore Helicopter Operator

A joint venture between Airlift and NHV is evaluating the launch of a new offshore aviation company with the ambition to become a strong and competitive market alternative through flexibility, customer focus, and next-generation technology.

To support this exciting initiative, we are seeking an experienced Director Business Development on a project-based engagement. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new business from concept to operational reality, helping to ensure sustainable, long-term commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the new venture.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development activities with operational capabilities and strategic objectives.

  • Contribute to the development of the business model, market positioning, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Support commercial negotiations and strategic partnership development.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.

  • Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Play a key role in the transition from business concept to an operational company, helping to ensure sustainable, long-term commercial success.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A proven track record in business development, commercial leadership, strategy, or market development.

  • Experience developing and executing successful commercial growth strategies.

  • Strong experience from offshore energy, aviation, maritime, or related industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and convert business opportunities into commercial results.

  • Experience building trusted relationships with customers, partners, and senior stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial acumen combined with strategic thinking and a hands-on approach.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • The ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
