Selling an iconic Norwegian-made Tandberg CTV 2 color television from the mid-1970s as a quick restoration project. This is the luxury "124" model variant, which features a premium real-wood cabinet equipped with an integrated rolling shutter door (sjalusidør) to smoothly hide the screen. It is an amazing statement piece for mid-century modern decor, a vintage bar conversion project, or a classic electronics restoration.
Technical Condition:
- Power Button: The spring-loaded power switch does not latch mechanically (a very common mechanical issue on Tandberg units from this era). The unit turns on when you hold the button down manually, but it pops back out when released.
- Display & Audio: When held on, there is clear static sound/audio hiss from the speaker, but the screen remains completely dark (no visual snow/raster). This generally indicates the low-voltage audio circuit is fine, but the horizontal line output circuit or high-voltage section needs troubleshooting (likely a transistor or capacitor replacement).
