We are looking for a Marine Accountant / Project Controller to join our team!

In this role you will combine hands-on accounting with project controlling across our shipping, logistics and engineering activities. You will own project analysis and cost control, partner with our project managers, and keep each project's accounting accurate, from voyage closing to supplier follow-up. You will also analyse project profitability and support budgeting, forecasting and internal financial reporting.

You will join a core finance team of four, working in close tandem with our external accountants, a partnership that is central to how we operate, and one you will be a key part of day to day. With this strong foundation in place, there is real scope over time to shape both the role and the underlying processes, working ever more closely across finance and the group’s operational business units.

Areas of responsibility:

• Project accounting, including month-end closing with accruals based on project progress.

• Monthly closing of voyages.

• Intercompany invoicing and reconciliation.

• Monthly project reporting and analysis of project profitability.

• Cost control: reviewing actual costs against budget and following up variances.

• Supporting project managers in the budget and forecast processes.

• Following up cash flows, payments and non-payments within projects.

• Emission reporting (AER / EEOI).

• Other ad-hoc tasks within the Finance team.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, accounting and/or auditing.

• A solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping.

• Experience with project controlling, consolidation and/or financial reporting is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English.

• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting / financial reporting systems
