Join Enhanced Drilling as Front Line Support Engineer
As a Front Line Support Engineer, you will provide continuous technical and engineering support to ongoing offshore operations and time-critical workshop activities. The role is central to live operational support, enabling high-quality decision-making and multidisciplinary engineering responses across drilling and well operations.
This position focuses on operational execution and hands-on technical problem solving, supporting offshore crews and operations in real time rather than project administration. You will work in a high-responsibility environment where your input directly contributes to safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 technical and engineering support to ongoing offshore operations on a rotational basis
Act as a multidisciplinary engineering resource supporting drilling, hydraulics, automation, and electrical systems
Support planning and execution of EDR services for active and upcoming operations
Communicate directly with offshore crews during live operations to ensure safe and efficient execution
Handle technical escalations and problem-solving in high-critical operational situations
Contribute to procedures, risk assessments, contingency planning, and method statements
Participate in pre-job meetings, planning sessions, risk reviews, and lessons learned activities
Monitor operational performance and provide input on efficiency, risks, and improvements
Capture, share, and implement lessons learned and best practices across the organization
Document troubleshooting activities and follow up after issue resolution
Contribute to peer reviews, technical alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support development of training material for offshore operations and engineering personnel
Provide support to other departments within Enhanced Drilling when required
Education
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Instrumentation, Automation, Cybernetics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Equivalent technical education combined with relevant experience may also be considered
Master’s degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering is an advantage
High Voltage certification is desirable
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Control Systems and/or Electrical Engineering
Several years of experience from offshore operational environments
Experience from drilling rigs and understanding of drilling operations and processes
Offshore operational experience and understanding of live operational conditions
Well Control knowledge is an advantage
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of systems such as VFDs, HV systems, transformers, cooling systems, pressurized equipment, Ex equipment, and subsea systems
Ability to work across disciplines and understand system interactions and dependencies
Comfortable supporting live operations and handling time-critical technical challenges
Proficiency in MS Office and common engineering tools
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Confident working closely with offshore crews, customers, and internal technical teams
