Finance role in a global life science company

Bayer Norway AS is looking for a motivated and proactive Financial Controller to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is eager to learn, take ownership, and develop within a dynamic and international environment.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance topics, including accounting, controlling, statutory reporting, tax, and compliance. You will work closely with both local stakeholders and Bayer’s global finance network.

We are a small and agile team where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement are highly valued. The position is located at our office in Lysaker.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Own accurate and timely global and local financial reporting

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities

• Prepare annual accounts, tax calculations, returns, and audit documentation

• Coordinate compliance reporting and public reporting

• Act as key interface towards Shared Services

• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights

• Support and improve finance processes and tools

• Contribute to projects and system implementations

• Drive continuous improvement and digitalization

• Collaborate across internal functions

• Support the Finance Manager as needed

Who we are looking for

• University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or similar

• 2–3 years relevant experience (audit experience is an advantage)

• Strong understanding of accounting principles

• Good Excel and system skills, Maestro experience an advantage

• Ability to work independently and take ownership

• Structured, detail-oriented mindset

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• Comfortable in a dynamic environment

• Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language
