Who are we? 

Storebrand is a personal and digital challenger in the retail market for banking, savings and insurance services. Our mission is to deliver financial security and freedom for our customers, so that they have a future to look forward to. We've grown strongly over the past few years, and our ambitions going forward are at least as high. 

Kron from Storebrand is an app that makes fund savings easy for everyone. We have won the EPSI award* for customer satisfaction three years in a row, and we intend to keep winning it! But we have also got lots of new things in the pipeline (stock trading, among other things 👀), and we need more people on the team to make it happen. We work cross-functionally with flat structures, and there's plenty of room to both have fun, learn new things and — not least —  build a product people love. 

Who are we looking for? 

You're an experienced backend developer (or fullstack!) who's motivated by, and takes pride in, that the code you write contributes directly to a better end product. You also care about architecture, code quality, testing and tooling, and you love when things are set up so that you and your colleagues can build at high speed without anything breaking. 

People who are more self-driven than average and who enjoy a “startup-like” culture thrive at Kron. That means that with us, little is set in stone (and very little in specs and backlogs) — instead we focus on continuous exchange of ideas and discussion, with a relaxed attitude and a low bar for trying things out. At Kron, there is a short path from pitching a good new idea to the team, to you taking responsibility and getting it into production. 

The working language of the team is English, and you need to have a good command of it. If you know Norwegian (or want to learn) that is a bonus. 

Another thing to note is that by culture Kron is an “office first” team. You can actually work from home whenever you like and need it, but most of us come to the office almost every day. We feel it gives us speed and enables us to quickly take decisions, fosters important connections, and we also have a lot of fun when we are together. 

Some other nice to haves for a candidate (but no hard requirement) is experience with our tech stack and the finance domain.

We have a modern tech stack that gives us speed, and in the backend we deploy to production about 15-20 times a day on average.

• Infra: Kubernetes on GCP through shared service in Storebrand, Pulumi 

• CI/CD: Github Actions 

• AI: Claude Code and Github Copilot with unlimited access to the latest models
