The Fear of the Dark tour was one of the last great chapters of the classic Bruce Dickinson era — and nights like Reggio Emilia are exactly why. Run to the Hills. The classics landing like hammer blows. Then Heaven Can Wait — and an entire Italian festival crowd singing every word back at full volume in unison. Those moments don't happen everywhere. Italy made it happen.
Newer cuts like Afraid to Shoot Strangers and Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter proved the band weren't coasting on legacy — they were still building it. The intensity of this performance is regularly compared to their legendary Donington '92 show from the same tour. High praise. Completely justified.
What nobody in that field fully understood was the weight of the moment. Bruce Dickinson was less than a year away from his departure. This is the closing act of an era — raw, fierce, and completely alive.
