Are you our new Explosion Protection (Ex) & Safety Hardware Engineer?

Join Kongsberg Maritime AS in shaping the next generation of maritime technology. We are looking for an experienced Ex & Safety Hardware Engineer to strengthen our hardware organization and help ensure that our products meet the highest standards for explosion protection, safety, and reliability. In this role, you will be a key technical authority, influencing product development, customer solutions, and technology strategies across our portfolio.

We are looking for a new member to join our hardware team and strengthen our products with solid expertise in Ex and Safety hardware equipment and systems. If you have a background in Ex and Safety HW solutions - and preferably a passion for maritime applications - we would love to hear from you.

As an Ex Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and innovative projects, collaborate with a diverse team of experts, and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art hardware solutions. You will be the subject matter expert for Ex hardware questions and will support sales, and development and delivery projects with your competence.

Key accountabilities:

Support certification activities and compliance assessments.
Drive Ex and safety-related design reviews.
Advise product management and R&D teams on regulatory requirements.
Participate in technology roadmaps and hardware strategy discussions.
Support customer and sales organizations with technical expertise.

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelors, Masters degree, or technical college in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
Preferably knowledge of maritime applications.
Good English communication, written and verbal.
Experienced in IECEx, ATEX and IEC 60079 series
