Fleet Manager – Tankers

Frontline Management AS is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager with extensive tanker operational experience to strengthen our fleet management team and support our continued growth. This strategic appointment reflects the company's commitment to fleet expansion, operational excellence, and long-term succession planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the transfer of critical operational knowledge, developing future fleet leadership capabilities, and supporting the continued evolution of our fleet management organization.

As the primary owner representative towards external ship managers, the Fleet Manager will ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective vessel operations across an assigned fleet of tanker vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and follow up an assigned fleet of tanker vessels operated by external ship managers.
• Ensure compliance with international regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Monitor vessel condition, technical performance, maintenance standards, and safety management systems.
• Plan and oversee dry-dockings, repairs, inspections, and major maintenance projects.
• Lead budget preparation, cost control, OPEX reporting, and performance analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Participate in the company's emergency response organization.
• Leverage data analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled technologies to improve decision-making, vessel performance, and operational efficiency.
• Support ESG and decarbonization objectives through data-driven performance management and innovation.
• Contribute to succession planning by mentoring future fleet leaders and facilitating effective knowledge transfer across the organization.
• Develop and maintain best-practice frameworks, standardized processes, and knowledge management systems.

Qualifications

• Chief Engineer, Master Mariner, Electrical/Automation engineer, or relevant higher university degree.
• Extensive experience within the tanker shipping sector, including previous Fleet Manager experience.
• Proven expertise in vessel operations, dry-docking, maintenance, budgeting, and safety management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert operational data into actionable business insights.
• Experience with fleet performance systems, business intelligence tools, and digital technologies is advantageous.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
