Roboxi - Cloud Platform Engineer
Autonomous robots are already keeping airports safer. You'll build the cloud platform that scales them worldwide.
Roboxi builds autonomous robots that automate critical inspection tasks at airports from foreign object detection to infrastructure monitoring. Our vehicles are live at Sola Airport, Schiphol, and Florence, with more international deployments coming in 2026.
We're now looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to build the production-grade cloud foundation that supports our growing global fleet.
Your First Major Challenge
As we expand from early deployments to a globally distributed platform, you'll architect the cloud infrastructure that keeps our robots communicating, updating, and operating reliably across multiple airport environments simultaneously.
This means building for security, scalability, and operational resilience from the ground up, with real stakes.
You'll work directly with our CTO and cross-disciplinary engineering teams across robotics, computer vision, and communications.
What You'll Own
Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering
- Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure that supports a fleet of autonomous robots operating across multiple countries
- Drive platform architecture decisions and contribute directly to the long-term technical roadmap
- Build secure, multi-environment infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and operational resilience are built in not bolted on
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud services and software deployments
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows so the team moves fast without breaking things
- Raise the bar on observability through centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting
- Support deployment and ongoing operations of production applications and services
Cloud Security & Networking
- Implement robust identity and access management across cloud systems
- Design secure networking solutions for communication between robots, edge systems, and cloud infrastructure
- Champion security best practices, compliance initiatives, and platform hardening across the stack
- Support secure onboarding and access management for both internal teams and external partners
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with engineers across robotics, software, communications, and computer vision this is genuinely cross-disciplinary work
- Engage in agile development processes including sprint planning and standups
- Get stuck into complex platform and infrastructure problems and see them through to resolution
- Contribute to technical documentation and a culture of knowledge sharing
Skills We're Looking For
Core skills
- Proven experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or equivalent)
- Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and automated deployment
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, distributed systems, and security principles
- Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams you'll collaborate daily with robotics and CV engineers, not just other cloud engineers
Bonus if you bring
- Experience with IoT, robotics systems, edge computing, or telemetry platforms
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture or microservices
- Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or data pipelines
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps
We typically see strong candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience, but we're open to people who can demonstrate the capabilities above regardless of their path to getting there.
Why Engineers Choose Roboxi
True ownership: You won't be a ticket-taker. You'll shape architecture decisions on systems that operate in safety-critical environments at international airports.
Genuinely novel problems: The intersection of cloud, robotics, edge computing, and critical infrastructure is not a common combination. The engineering challenges here are legitimately hard and interesting.
Small team, global reach: We're lean by design. Your decisions have direct impact across deployments in multiple countries.
Direct access to leadership: You'll work closely with the CTO, not through layers of management.
A meaningful mission: Safer airports through autonomous systems. It's applied technology with visible, meaningful impact.
Location
This role is based on-site at our engineering hub in Forus, Stavanger. Close collaboration with robotics hardware, testing environments, and the team is a core part of how we work.
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary reflecting senior engineering levels in the Norwegian market, alongside:
- Full equipment and technology setup
- Professional development budget
- A collaborative, low-bureaucracy engineering culture
We're open to discussing specific expectations during the process, no surprises.
Our Commitment
Roboxi is building a team as diverse as the airports we operate in. We actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds if you're excited about the mission and confident in your skills, apply even if you don't tick every box.
