Infrastructure Engineer – Powering Europe’s AI Data Centres
About the Role
We’re hiring an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our data centre infrastructure.
This role sits within Infrastructure Operations and reports to the Infrastructure Operations Manager. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, capacity planning, infrastructure optimization, and customer support, while also supporting colleagues across other Nscale data centres as needed.
This is a high-impact role for someone who combines strong technical depth with sound judgement, organization, and leadership. You’ll help maintain service availability, support rapid incident response, and drive long-term operational improvements that matter to both our customers and the wider business.
What you'll be doingInfrastructure Projects & Operational Delivery
Manage infrastructure projects, including installations and upgrades
Support deployments and operational tasks across additional data centres as required
Adapt to customer-driven operational demands, including specialist support outside core business hours
Travel to other Nscale data centres to assist colleagues and support business needs
Critical Systems Monitoring & Reliability
Monitor critical systems including power, cooling, and network connectivity
Maintain data centre infrastructure to support efficiency, reliability, and scalability
Respond to critical incidents during out-of-business hours when required
Work shifts and participate in on-call cover as part of operational support
Incident Management & Customer Support
Handle escalated customer support issues in line with business SLA requirements
Investigate major incidents to identify root causes
Recommend long-term fixes to prevent repeat issues
Provide specialist technical support when customer needs require extended coverage
Automation & Continuous Improvement
Design automation scripts and tools to optimize operational processes
Implement automation solutions using relevant tooling and scripting capabilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capacity planning initiatives
Drive infrastructure optimization through practical, scalable improvements
Service availability and reliability
SLA adherence on escalated customer support issues
Major incident root cause analysis and long-term fix implementation
Infrastructure project delivery for installations and upgrades
4+ years of experience in data centre environments
Expertise in server administration, virtualization, and networking protocols
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Python
Hands-on server experience within a tech organization
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Advanced technical certifications
Ability to make decisions on complex topics in ambiguous, results-driven environments
Confidence influencing without authority and building relationships with senior stakeholders
Highly organized, diligent, and able to move work forward independently
Strong customer service ethic; exposure to large-scale data centre environments is a plus
