We are looking for a Sales Manager - Defence

Join us in continuing to revolutionize ocean space operations!

As Maritime Robotics continues to grow within the defence and security market, we are now looking for a Sales Manager who can strengthen the team and drive opportunities from early dialogue to signed contracts. This is a role for someone who enjoys structure, momentum, relationship building, and being close to both customers and operations.

You will play a key role in our Defence team by taking ownership of the operational sales process and ensuring progress across ongoing opportunities. Working closely with our VP Defence & Security, engineers, product specialists, and bid resources, you will help coordinate the commercial work needed to win and deliver complex projects internationally. Participating in demonstrations, military exercises, and exhibitions is part of our everyday operations

In this role, you will report directly to the VP Defence & Security.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Drive and follow up on sales opportunities within the defence and security market from early dialogue to contract signing.

  • Maintain structure and momentum across the sales pipeline, including forecasting and opportunity follow-up.

  • Lead commercial processes and negotiations in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Plan, participate in, and follow up on international exhibitions, defence conferences, demonstrations, and industry events.

  • Represent Maritime Robotics during field exercises, customer demonstrations, and operational activities.

  • Work closely with engineering, product, and bid teams to ensure strong and competitive customer deliveries.

  • Build long-term relationships with military stakeholders, procurement environments, and strategic partners.

  • Contribute with market insight and customer feedback to support future product development and priorities.

  • Ensure company compliance by continuously seeking improvements and reporting deviations.

Relevant expertise for this role:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience from defence, aerospace, deep-tech, maritime technology, or other complex technology environments.

  • Experience leading structured sales processes, larger customer opportunities, or cross-functional commercial projects.

  • Experience working with governmental procurement processes, tenders, framework agreements, or defence-related customers.

  • Comfortable working closely with technical environments and translating complex systems into clear customer value.

  • Experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot, along with common collaboration and office tools.

  • Fluency in English is required. Norwegian is an advantage, but not a requirement.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national/NATO security clearance is required.

Who are you, then?

  • You are proactive, highly structured, and excel at driving progress in complex sales processes.

  • You take real ownership of your work, while knowing that the best results are achieved through strong, cross-disciplinary teamwork.

  • You build trust and credibility naturally, communicating effortlessly with both technical specialists and senior decision-makers, both internally and externally.

  • You thrive in an environment where things move fast and priorities shift. You are curious, learning-oriented, and ready to grow alongside the company.

  • You are hands-on and deeply motivated by helping our customers solve real operational challenges safely and effectively.

  • You are energized by and take pride in our core values: Innovate! Enable! Deliver!

Om arbeidsgiveren

Since 2005, Maritime Robotics has pioneered and led the development of advanced sea drones (Uncrewed Surface Vessels USVs) and maritime autonomy. Our core technology, the autonomous navigation system (ANS), enables safe and efficient remote and autonomous operations at sea.

These robotic solutions are vital for precise seabed mapping, ocean research, securing marine infrastructure, and operations in challenging environments. Globally deployed ANS and USVs contribute to sustainable, efficient, and safe maritime navigation, minimizing fuel use.  In today’s world, our technology is also crucial for protecting communities and assets. We see growing demand from defence, security, hydrography, marine construction, and the energy sector.
