Senior Mechatronics Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our engineering team developing advanced equipment for oil and gas wells. Our innovative products are designed to operate reliably in demanding pressure and temperature environments. This role is part of the Completions & Wellhead Integrity (CWI) business line.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and contribute to the development of advanced electro-mechanical products and support sustaining engineering activities for existing technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong system-level understanding of mechanical and electronic systems with practical experience leading multidisciplinary technology projects throughout the product lifecycle.

The role will act as a technical project lead for electro-mechanical development projects, coordinating activities across mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines. The position does not require hands-on electronics or software design, but the successful candidate will work closely with Interwell’s dedicated electronics and software engineering teams to develop robust, manufacturable, and high-quality solutions.

Main Activities & Responsibilities:

• Lead and actively contribute to electro-mechanical product development projects through all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design to testing, qualification, and implementation

• Develop products involving mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, actuators, batteries, communication interfaces, and control systems for harsh downhole environments

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical design, electronics, and software development to deliver robust and high-quality technical solutions

• Develop concepts, prototypes, and qualification test solutions for harsh downhole environments involving pressure, temperature, vibration, and shock

• Participate in system architecture discussions, technical reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities

• Create and maintain engineering drawing, documentation, specifications, test plans, and technical reports

• Support sustaining engineering activities, product improvements, and technical issues related to manufacturing, field deployments, and customer feedback

• Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and field service teams to ensure efficient product support and operational reliability

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering quality, reliability, and product performance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Cybernetics, Automation, or a related technical discipline

• Experience with Mechanical design CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks

• Experience developing electro-mechanical products and systems

• Experience with sensors, actuators, batteries, or control systems for extreme environmental conditions

• Fluency in English – written and spoken
