This is from P.T.A.'s Deauville Collection... So, one might ask: What is Deauville? Aha, yes! Glad you asked! Deauville is a historic, ultra-chic French seaside resort that revolutionized fashion by pioneering casual chic in the early 20th century, most notably through Coco Chanel since 1913. The "Deauville Look" is inspired both by the local sailors as well as by the vacationing elite: This style introduced Breton striped jumpers, sailor pants, high-waisted trousers, and comfortable tweed jackets, replacing the restrictive corsets of the time. It remains as a fashionable hub of high luxury, still known as the "21st arrondissement of Paris," where effortless elegance and nautical styles meet n mingle, and such staples as Breton stripes do remain timeless. The neck tag illustration hints towards this very aesthetic.
