Mechanical Engineer – Steering Gear Products
Neuver Maritime is now seeking a skilled, analytical, and hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to take a key role as product specialist within the mechanical and hydraulic discipline for our Steering Gear product family.
This is a central engineering role where you will contribute directly to product performance, lifecycle quality, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with product management, manufacturing, sales, and our global aftermarket organization to ensure that our steering gear systems remain best‑in‑class in a demanding international market.
You will be part of a highly competent team working with advanced mechanical and hydraulic solutions that power safe maneuvering for vessels worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide specialist technical expertise within mechanical and hydraulic engineering for the Steering Gear product portfolio
· Contribute to product maintenance, upgrades, and development, including preparation and improvement of technical documentation
· Lead or participate in product and process improvement initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and lifecycle services
· Support manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams with engineering insight and problem‑solving
· Provide technical support to Sales and Contract Management during tendering and project execution
· Collaborate closely with our global aftermarket organization on product issues and contribute to resolving customer challenges
· Ensure that engineering decisions support long‑term product reliability, manufacturability, and lifecycle performance
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
· Strong competence in mechanical 3D design, preferably with experience in FEA
· Solid understanding of hydraulics
· Strong knowledge of machining processes and Design for Manufacturing principles
· Experience with 3D CAD and PLM systems is an advantage; we currently use Siemens NX and Bluestar PLM
· Experience from manufacturing or the maritime industry is beneficial
