Giant acrylic painting self made by me ✨ Dustie. A nomad who’s set her roots in Randaberg, Rogaland. Where some of the most beautiful sights can be seen!
This painting was inspired by my dentist who works in Tananger. Her empty ceiling was in need of a focal point for patients to enjoy looking at while they sit, and lay down in the dentist chair. The choice of colors and movement in the paints creates a sense of wonder as this abstract landscape helps you escape from all of the worries and stress of being in the dentist chair. When commissioned for this piece in particular it was decided to paint directly onto the original ceiling tiles and then replace it with the new look! But, they were very brittle and old. Which were fragile and broke easily. 😣
😅 Moving onto Plan B: We measured the size and bought new MDF ceiling tiles. Claimed to fit all standard 121cm x 61cm. I trusted the claim. Painted this beauty I call “Tananger Fjord”, yes I do know there are no actual fjords in Tananger Norway, but with my painting in her office ceiling…now it is. ;)
But…when it came time to install…it was 1/2 cm too large!!! 😭
Cutting the painting to fit would have ruined the integrity of the painting.
So, we went with plan C! Photograph and direct print onto a lightweight metal plate— with top notch printing quality! Added a little extra gold flakes and she was perfect!

This piece 121cm x 62cm and is made with Amsterdam acrylics, which are fade resistant top shelf quality paints. The paints are all hand mixed with custom recipes I make from scratch. Varnished with 4 coats of a high gloss non-yellowing varnish to enhance the metallic flaks that glitter throughout the painting.
Capturing the essence of Norway on a bright sunny day while sailing through the fjords is how I loved to spend my free time with my family before I nearly bit the dust and have spent 10 years recalculating my internal GPS navigation system to understand my new body, my new life, my disabled one. With the amazing assistance of BPA to help me take on some of the tasks I cannot do on my own— I have returned to my happy place.
Being chronically ill, I’m stuck inside my home and doctors offices and hospitals— a lot. And I paint the visions of what I would love to see and experience in my home, the workplace and more! Finding new ways of connecting with Norways beautiful landscapes has been a healing experience for me. For all of you who just wants to be «ut på tur», and can’t. This is a piece for you. For all of the hard working employees around the country— this piece is for you. For all the cozy cabins with a blank wall and needs a modern update— this piece is for you.
Fluid art is a fantastic way for me to “control the chaos.” I control the mixing, the canvas, the color palette, and composition— but just like life— anything can happen once I pour, splash, swipe, spin, blot, splatter, swirl, and tilt that paint down onto the canvas. Making the most breathtaking abstract landscape art.

On the artist:
I decided a long time ago— I don’t want to be Max. Max was the painter whose paintings I found in the thrift store for 40kr each 🤦🏻 ♀️ Painted on fabulous gallery quality canvas. Max’s 70cmx 70cm paintings were forever forgotten about and in the end…have been recycled, by me.
It broke my heart to paint over his artwork. Knowing the love he put into them. But, Max isn’t here anymore to appreciate them, and I googled him. He was a starving artist. Not worth more than the 40kr I paid for them. To me, this was a fresh canvas ready for a new opportunity to create something new that I hope you and Max will love.
I would roll over in my grave knowing all my years of education, experience and passion for making art was…for nothing…well, 40kr. “Here kids, you’ve inherited this 40kr I made selling my art at the thrift store.”
In the end, Max didn’t have the level of training I have applied myself to. To master acrylic painting, graphic design and product and packaging design.
