Join Our Team as a Claims handler (Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Claims colleague to join one of our Germany market teams, working from our office in Arendal.

You will have a high degree of autonomy and will work closely with our members and clients, together with very competent colleagues across our global organization.

There is a strong focus at Gard on cross-team collaboration and Claims handlers will also work together with underwriting marketing Gard’s capabilities in the German market and some travelling will be expected.

The ideal candidate will actively contribute to team goals, communicate openly, and foster positive working relationships across departments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Development of P&I claims handling capacity and capabilities toward relevant Members with a strong focus on service and Member satisfaction.
• Professional and efficient handling of P&I claims in accordance with Gard’s claims handling instructions and QMS.
• Provide advice to Members on P&I cover, claims handling and loss prevention.
• Prepare reports and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Close cooperation with colleagues within claims globally and the underwriters of the Member portfolio.
• Participation in Member meetings, presentations, seminars and market events, as well as industry discussions where appropriate.

The person we are looking for has:

• Experience and a proven track record in handling different types of P&I claims
• Legal education and practice are beneficial
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
• The ability to perform and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Motivation to learn as well as to share knowledge.
• The ability to analyse, structure and organise tasks, and to work independently with a solution and result-oriented mindset.
• Good communication skills, with written and spoken English being required.
• Strong IT skills, including an interest in AI tools.
