Your Impact at ROEST

As a Product Development Engineer at ROEST, you won't just be designing parts; you'll be shaping the experience for thousands of coffee professionals worldwide. You will be a vital part of a dedicated team where your ideas have a direct and immediate impact on the final product. We're looking for someone who is hands-on, creative, and ready to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in every stage of development. Here's what you can expect to be working on:

• Design, develop, and test a game-changing new electrical coffee roaster. Project start Q3 2026.

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks (or other tools) for prototyping and manufacturing.

• Collaborate directly with the production team to implement and refine DFM/A principles.

• Build and validate physical prototypes to rigorously test new concepts and technologies.

• Participate in the full product lifecycle, from initial ideation and sketching to mass production and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design, development, and validation of new hardware products.

• Optimizing existing product lines for performance, cost, and reliability.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, customer support, R&D).

• Researching and integrating new technologies and engineering solutions.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Master's degree in product development or 7+ years of industrial experience

• Proven experience leading products from concept to launch.

• Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems.

• Proven experience in product development, from concept to production.

• High proficiency in 3D CAD software

• Strong understanding of DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) principles.

• Experience applying project management methodologies in a development context.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Computational fluid dynamics to solve complex tasks. 

• Experience with thermal management simulation and design.

• Prior experience in the coffee industry or with food processing equipment.

• Leadership experience or mentorship of junior engineers.

• Understanding of electrical engineering principles for product integration.

• A genuine passion for coffee and the technology that perfects it.

• Highly motivated and comfortable working both independently and in a team.

• A collaborative spirit, eager to work with cross-functional teams.

• An innovative mindset, always curious and looking for better solutions.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Oslo, Norway.
