Teamlead - Structural

PALFINGER Marine Norway OC + WHA (Offshore Cranes, Winches, Handling and Access Equipment) group will strengthen up the engineering team with a team leader for Structural Department.

The team consists of structural engineers in Bergen (Norway) and Bratislava (Slovakia) performing work in projects and supporting in optimizing existing and developing new equipment. Position is placed in the Nesttun office close to Bergen and team leader reports to OC & WHA Engineering manager.

The team leader has the responsibility of the personnel in the Structural department and will support and guide them in their assessments and daily work. Team leader is also an important part of ensuring technical solutions comply with rules and regulations and needs to cooperate closely with product owners and other technical disciplines and engineering environments within the PALFINGER organization.

We are looking for a motivated manager that has a strong technical background within structural assessments and calculations, with ability to manage a department of skilled engineers. The position requires you to lead and work with specialists and less experienced engineers, support them in their work and make sure what they deliver is of good quality.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Structural assements and calculations of structures and assemblies

• Rule assessments and ensuring products are efficiently designed

• Department management including guidance and follow-up of structural engineers

• Sales support with concept preparations and evaluations

• Follow up of rules and regulations and contact with 3rd party / Class societies

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• MSc or BSc degree Senior Structural Engineer (experience from leading a team is an advantage)

• Understanding of structural and mechanical design - design of cranes or other lifting appliances, winches, various handling equipment is an advantage

• Practical use of structural calculation tools such as Ansys, Mathcad, Staadpro or similar

• Familiar with Rules and Regulations for lifting appliances and marine equipment

• Experience with making design calculation reports for 3rd party/ Class societies
