Gram Car Carriers is looking for a Technical Manager
We are growing the company and expanding our fleet with newbuildings featuring innovative design and propulsion systems, as well as secondhand acquisitions. To support this growth, we are looking for a talented and motivated individual with minimum 3-5 years´ relevant experience for our Oslo office. As part of GCC, you will join a dedicated and dynamic technical team.
The candidate will be responsible for a group of vessels, follow-up of appointed Ship Managers and fleetwide responsibilities for crew management and fleet performance.
The position requires traveling and flexible working hours as the vessels are trading worldwide.
Candidate profile
Ambitious, independent, structured and hard working.
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Digital competence is a key requirement as well as experience with fleet monitoring tools.
Experience as deck officer is preferred.
Crew Management experience is an advantage.
Experience from PCTC/ Ro-RO / RO-Pax or Ferries is an advantage but not a must.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Ship Management for a group of vessels.
Keep overview of the technical condition of the nominated vessels.
Approve and control OPEX budgets and reporting and ensure that any deviation or unforeseen costs are reported and explained as soon as possible.
Ensure that appointed third party ship managers deliver agreed services, with focus on minimizing risk of unexpected off hire.
Conduct vetting inspections of vessels on a regular basis and be actively involved in planning and execution of dry-dockings.
Work closely with the commercial department and ensure timely reporting of technical concerns.
Fleetwide responsibilities
Utilise digital tools to measure fleet performance and analyse data and address underperformance.
The candidate shall take active part in developing aligned GCC Crew policies across the fleet, and have interaction with crew managers and with officers onboard.
A special responsibility for monitoring crew safety.
