The Swiss Embassy in Oslo is looking for a Policy Advisor with deep knowledge of Norwegian politics and a talent for making sense of complex political landscapes. You know Norway inside out: its politics, its institutions, its society, and you help us navigate it. You can analyze complex political developments and distil them into concise, well-crafted cables easily digestible for HQ.

 You will report to the Deputy Head of Mission and work across the full spectrum of Switzerland's diplomatic relations with Norway and Iceland: political, economic, financial, legal, scientific and cultural affairs. We encourage you to bring your ideas and energy, and to shape the role in a way that maximizes your contribution.

Your tasks

• Research, analysis and reporting on political and economic developments in Norway and Iceland

• Contact with relevant stakeholders and interest groups

• Support organization of ministerial visits and diplomatic exchanges

• Drafting of policy briefs, talking points and diplomatic notes

• Organising small cultural projects

• Representation and administrative tasks

Your profile

• M.A. in political science, international relations, law, economics or related fields

• A few years' professional experience

• Excellent knowledge of Norwegian politics and legislative process

• Excellent writing skills

• Excellent political judgement

• Excellent command of Norwegian and English, spoken and written

• Good knowledge of German

• Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit

• M.A. in Law or international Law

• Excellent understanding of the Norwegian legislative processes

• An existing network within Norwegian government or the business community

Terms and conditions

• Fixed-term contract (60%), September 2026 – June 2029 under Norwegian labor regulations
